Information on Health, Wellness and Public Safety exams, Distance Learning (Blended) and Make-up testing, instructor guidelines for make-up exams.

Testing for CNM Distance Learning (Blended/Hybrid) classes and for Make-up exams is offered at the CNM Assessment Centers.

The Health, Wellness and Public Safety Exams are given at the instructor’s direction, to students who are currently enrolled in Health, Wellness and Public Safety classes.

Distance Learning (Blended) and Make-up Testing

Testing for CNM Distance Learning (Blended/Hybrid) classes and for Make-up exams is offered at the CNM Assessment Centers located at Main, Montoya, Westside and Rio Rancho campuses. Paper-pencil exams are only administered at Main campus.

*The Assessment Center will be closed on the first and second Saturdays of every term.


 

Test Center Rules

  • Students must have a valid photo ID and be listed on the class roster or Testing Form in order to test.
  • All personal belongings, including purses, cell phones, or any electronic devices will be collected prior to entering the testing room. We encourage you to leave all belongings at home or secured in your vehicle.
  • Once administration has begun, the student is expected to complete the exam without interruption.
  • If dishonest behavior is observed it will be documented and the instructor notified.

Test Center Will Provide

  • Scratch Paper and Pencils
  • Basic Function Calculator upon request if permitted (graphing calculators available in limited supply)
  • Ear Plugs upon request
  • A proctored, secure testing environment.

Instructor Guidelines

  • Please complete and submit a Testing Form and class roster for each exam you would like administered at the Assessment Center. Contact us with any questions about filling-out the form.
  • Please submit your Testing Forms as early in the term as possible, or submit your test dates as a place holder. This helps us determine the department’s staffing needs based on anticipated testing volume. Testing Forms submitted less than three days prior to the test start date may be subject to approval depending on the volume of testing already scheduled.
  • Computer-based tests may be administered at all campuses (except SVC); Paper-based exams may be administered at Main campus only.
  • It is the instructor’s responsibility to arrange drop-off and pick-up of paper-based exams. We will scan and email a small number of exams (10-20 pages) as requested. (We discourage sending completed exams through inter-office mail, but will do so if requested.)
  • Please include the instructor’s name on all exams.
  • Students with needs other than regular classroom conditions may be referred to the Disability Resource Center .

About the Health, Wellness and Public Safety Exams

  • Completely free
  • Tests are available Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm
  • The exam is given at any CNM Assessment Center on a walk-in basis, except South Valley

Scheduling Distance Learning and Make-up Testing

For Students

Appointments for Distance Learning/Blended courses and/or Make-Up testing are now scheduled via RegisterBlast.

 ***Note: Students requiring special accommodations for testing, other than extra-time only, should contact the DRC at (505) 224-3259, or email: drc@cnm.edu ***

  • Exams will only be available at the campus(es) designated by your instructor.
  • Examinees who are more than 15 minutes late may have to reschedule.
  • To schedule your exam in RegisterBlast:

            1) Select the campus where you will test from the links below.

            2) Select your exam (it is the student’s responsibility to select the correct exam).

            3) Choose your test date and time.

            4) Click “Add to Cart”.

            5) The registration process is not complete until you click “Complete Registration”.

For Faculty

Appointments for Distance Learning/Blended courses and/or Make-Up testing are now scheduled via RegisterBlast.

 ***Note: Students requiring special accommodations for testing, other than extra-time only, should contact the DRC at (505) 224-3259, or email: drc@cnm.edu  (You may treat students who need extra-time only as a Make-up.) ***

1.  Create your professor RegisterBlast account at https://www.registerblast.com/cnmcc-main/professor/enroll and we will take care of the rest. Note: It may take from one to four hours for us to configure your account before your tests can be processed.

  • Continue to submit your Distance Learning/Blended and/or Make-up testing Cover Sheets and Class Rosters as usual, via the dlmtestcenter@cnm.edu mailbox or in-person.
  • We will review the information, contact you if any clarifications or changes are needed, and will then enter it into RegisterBlast on your behalf. It will then be posted and made available on the RegisterBlast student site so students will be able to schedule their test. (see Students section above).
  • Please submit your Testing Forms as early in the term as possible, or submit your test dates as a placeholder. This helps us determine the department’s staffing needs based on anticipated testing volume.
  • The Testing Center will make a few copies as needed (<20) but otherwise we ask that the instructor provide copies and to arrange drop-off and pick-up of all test materials (the DPC can assist with copying and delivery: https://www.cnm.edu/depts/duplicating-postal-center
  • Paper/pencil tests (with the exception of Make-up tests) are only administered at Main Campus.
  • Upon request the Testing Center will scan & email completed test materials for return (with the exception of note cards), but we cannot promise a time frame, as it’s dependent on current testing volume.
