Transfer Pathways
The ENMU BAAS program is a transfer pathway for all CNM AAS degrees. Your AAS degree will transfer and apply toward the ENMU BAAS program. In addition, the ENMU BAAS program requires completion of the New Mexico General Education curriculum as part of its degree requirements. These General Education courses can be completed prior to transfer.
Below, you’ll find a list of courses that can be taken in addition to your AAS to ensure you transfer with your General Education requirements complete.
- One Creative and Fine Arts Requirement Course
- One Communications Requirement Course*
- One Laboratory Science Requirement (Lab Required)
- Two Multi-Disciplinary/Flexible Requirement Courses*
To maximize your transfer credits for General Education, please choose the courses listed below to fulfill your Program-Approved Elective and Communication Option as part of your AAS degree. This selection will satisfy one of your Multi-Disciplinary/Flexible Requirements and the Communication Requirement, meaning you will only need to complete one Multi-Disciplinary/Flexible course and will not need to complete the Communication course, as mentioned above.*
- AIML 1310 – Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
- ENGL 1110 – Composition I
In order to confirm that you have completed the General Education requirements, please schedule a meeting with your academic advisor.
BAS
The NMHU BAS program is a transfer pathway for all AAS students. The BAS program will receive a total of 30 credit hours of CTE coursework and the 31 credit hours NM General Education Core. With your AAS, you will complete the 30-credit hour CTE requirements. For students that would like to transfer with the 31 NM General Education requirement, please complete the following courses.
- One Communications Requirement Course*
- One Creative and Fine Arts Requirement Course
- One Laboratory Science Requirement (Lecture and Lab Required)
- Two Multi-Discipline/Flexible Requirement Course** ***
*If a student choose ENGL 1110 as part of their AAS Communication Elective Option, it will fulfill the Communication Requirement, allowing them to avoid this requirement.
**ECON 2110 and ECON 2120 are General Core Requirements for the BAS program at NMHU. If not previously completed as part of your AAS, please take the course to maximize your transfer credits. The course will also count toward one of the Multi-Discipline/Flexible Requirements.
***To maximize your transfer credits for General Education, please choose ENTR 1110 or AIML 1310 as your Program Approved Elective Option part of your AAS Degree. This selection will satisfy one Multi-Disciplinary/Flexible Requirement.

OILS Program
The UNM OILS program is a transfer pathway for all AAS students. The OILS program will receive a total of 30 credit hours of CTE coursework and the 31 credit hours NM General Education Core. With your AAS, you will complete the 30-credit hour CTE requirements. For students that would like to transfer with the 31 NM General Education requirement, please complete the following courses.
In addition to your associate degree, you can complete the following courses, which meet New Mexico General Education requirements. These General Education courses are also required for the OILS program:
- One Communications Requirement Course*
- One Creative and Fine Arts Requirement Course
- One Laboratory Science Requirement (Lab required)
- Two Multi-Discipline/Flexible Requirement Courses**
In addition to completing your General Education courses as outlined above, the following courses directly fulfill UNM OILS program requirements prior to transfer. Please select one course from the list below:
- COMM 1130 - Public Speaking
- COMM 2120 - Interpersonal Communication
- COMM 2180 - Business and Professional Communication
- COMM 2223 - Introduction to Nonverbal Communication Studies
*Choosing ENGL 1110, as your AAS Communication Elective Option, will fulfill your Communication Requirement allowing youto skip this requirement, as noted above.
**Choosing AIML 1310, as your AAS Program-Approved Elective, will fulfill one Multi-Discipline/Flexible Requirement—allowing you to complete one Multi-Discipline courses instead of two, as noted above.

The Business program fulfills course requirements for admission to bachelor's degree programs at NM institutions. The Business program functions as both a business degree program (e.g., earn a Business Administration degree) and as offering of multiple, specialized certificates.
