Links
Use links to connect your page to other places.
You can create three types of links: internal, external, and an email address.
- Internal links are how you can link to another page on CNM.edu.
- External links points to a page outside of CNM.edu
- Email address links will open up your email and automatically put that email as who the message will send to.
If you need to remove a link highlight the linked text and click the Remove link(s) button.
Internal Links
To create an internal link, follow these steps:
- While editing a page, highlight the text that you want to link.
- Click the Insert/edit link button.
- The menu that populates will have five tabs and default to the Internal tab. The menu will also default to the "Current path" (because it is likely you will be inserting a link from the area of the website you're already on, the system will help your search for the link by having you start from the page you're editing).
- To select an item to link to, click on the item's text. If an item has a folder icon next to it, this means you can navigate to the items within that folder by clicking on the folder.
- Once you've selected your item its name will appear under the "Current path" menu. Click Insert to finish.
Note: Always link to pages on the CNM site through the Internal link option. Never link to CNM pages using the External link option.
External Links
To create an external link, follow these steps:
- While editing a page, highlight the text that you want to link.
- Click the Insert/edit link button.
- Click the External tab, insert the URL in the External URL field, and click Insert.
Email Address Links
To create a link to an email address, follow these steps:
- While editing a page, highlight the text that you want to link, preferably an email address or name.
- Click the Insert/edit link button.
- Select the Email tab, insert the email address under the Email Address field, and click Insert.
