New Student Orientation

CNM's New Student Orientation will introduce you to resources and concepts to help you be successful in your first year of college.

In CNM's New Student Orientations, you will explore resources available at CNM and participate in activities to prepare for the start of your college career. If you have questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to reach out via [email protected] or (505) 224-4000 ext. 55440.

Important Details

  • Be sure to have your CNM student ID number and username available. 
  • In addition to attending orientation, you should meet with an advisor. Advisement will not be offered during orientation sessions.
  • Once you have attended an orientation and registered for classes, you may then attend a Campus Catwalk to familiarize yourself with our campuses. Please note that Campus Catwalks are campus tours, not orientation. 

Orientation Types

Attend a Campus Catwalk

Are you a registered CNM student? Attend a Campus Catwalk to prepare for the semester ahead! Bring your schedule and explore classroom locations before the term starts.

CNM offers different New Student Orientations to fit your student type. Some certificate and degree programs require an additional orientation program. Check with your academic school to find out if your program requires an additional orientation program.

Freshman, Returning Student, and Transfer Student Orientation

Beginning freshmen, returning students, and transfer students are encouraged to complete orientation after registering for classes to make the most out of their college experience. 
Dual Credit Student Orientation

Dual Credit students are high school students taking college courses. New Dual Credit students are required to complete this online orientation module before registering for classes. 
CNM Online Student Orientation

CNM Online orientations are only for students who are specifically enrolled in CNM’s Online college. The orientation link is provided in your CNM Admissions letter and must be completed before registering for classes. 
Adult Basic Education Orientation

New GED/ HSE/ ESL students (or students that have been out of the program for one year) must attend a virtual orientation.
Global Education Student Orientation

International students in the Global Education program are required to attend an additional New Student Orientation program. Contact your DSO for more information.
Family and Ally Orientation

Family members, friends, and allies of new students are welcome to view a self-paced online orientation made specifically for them to learn about CNM and how to support their students. This online session takes about 20 minutes to complete.
