Magda Martinez-Baca

Director (Main/Montoya Campus)

Magda Martinez-Baca, Director of TRIO Student Support Services, has been an advocate for educational opportunity throughout her career. Prior to her work with TRIO, she worked in New Mexico and Texas with educational grant programs. She is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and received her bachelor's degree in Psychology. She is also a graduate of Texas A&M University-Kingsville and received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology.

Rob Carriaga

TRIO Achievement Coach (Main Campus)

Rob Carriaga is our Achievement Coach and is a first-generation college graduate with a double-major bachelor's degree in Communication and Psychology and a master's degree in Counseling. He has worked for over 10 years in higher education as an educational advisor, counselor, and adjunct instructor of communication studies.

Jimi Sanchez

TRIO Achievement Coach (Montoya Campus)

Jimi Sanchez is a native New Mexican and TRIO alumnus. He came back to school as a 45-year-old freshman and has received his Master of Science in the Organization, Information and Learning Sciences. Jimi is also a McNair Scholar. He is well versed in the culture of adult education.

Lupe Fuentes has worked at CNM for five years. She joined the TRIO SSS Main Campus team in September 2016 as an Administrative Technical Assistant. She is also a TRIO alum. Chuck Bazner

TRIO SSS Math tutor (Main Campus)

Chuck Bazner has been an instructor for 13 years at the college level and a K-12 teacher for three years. He has experience teaching a large variety of classes and tutoring for multiple subjects. He was also a corporate trainer for 25 years. Chuck is looking forward to helping you understand the subjects you wish to master in order to achieve your dreams!

Jaime Denison

TRIO Math Tutor (Montoya Campus)

Jaime Denison is a tutor in mathematics and was a TRIO student at the University of the Pacific. Studying philosophy, he received a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Pacific, a master’s degree from the University of California, Irvine, and a Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico. He has several years of experience teaching his own courses in writing and philosophy at the college level, as well as a few years of tutoring mathematics, physics and logic.

Rachel Giunta

TRIO Biology/Chemistry Tutor (Montoya Campus)

Rachel is a tutor in chemistry and biology, as well as accounting, math, physics, and engineering. She will also assist students with writing assignments in any subject. Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Virginia Tech, a Master of Arts in Applied Science from the College of William and Mary, and a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Virginia Tech. She is currently working toward the Entrepreneurship Certificate of Completion at CNM.

Carmen graduated from UNM with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She enjoys helping people achieve their goals. Her personal goal is to be a guide for others and to help them in any way possible.
