The English skills you build in ESL can help you prepare for additional education, training, and career opportunities at CNM.

Depending on your ESL test scores, you may be able to continue into career-focused programs such as:

When you strengthen your English skills, you open the door to new opportunities at work, school, and in your everyday life. At CNM, you'll find the support, encouragement, and resources you need to succeed.

You can take ESL classes designed for your current skill level, whether you're just beginning to learn English or you're ready for more advanced coursework. Before you enroll, you'll complete a placement assessment so you can start in the class that best matches your needs.

You can choose from online and in-person classes offered at CNM locations throughout the Albuquerque area. Online classes give you the flexibility to complete coursework around your work, family, and personal commitments while staying on track with course requirements.

You'll also have access to tutoring, conversation groups, workshops, and computer lab resources that help you practice your skills and build confidence beyond the classroom.

Every class helps you learn more than English. You'll gain confidence, strengthen your communication skills, and move closer to your educational and career goals.

Improving your English doesn't have to be expensive. ESL classes cost just $10 each term, and fee waivers may be available if you're experiencing financial hardship.

Meet Marisela

Marisela Ortega came to CNM to strengthen her English skills and take the first step toward her education goals. Through CNM's English as a Second Language (ESL) program, she built confidence, made connections, and discovered new opportunities.

Marisela pursued a degree in Early Childhood Multicultural Education with plans to continue her education after CNM. She credits the ESL program with helping her find her voice and believe in what she could achieve.
