Student IDs

You can get a CNM student ID card once you've fully registered for classes.

Bring your current or upcoming class schedule along with an acceptable government-issued ID. There is no charge for your first ID card. If you have an older CNM or TVI ID card, you can trade it in for a new one at no charge.

Acceptable Government-Issued IDs

You will need to bring a government-issued (federal or state) ID with your legal name, date of birth, and signature to obtain a CNM ID. Examples include:

  • State-issued driver’s license or ID card
  • Passport
  • INS Visa (“green card”)
  • Military ID
  • Tribal ID
  • Foreign government-issued ID

Specialized Student IDs

If you are enrolled in specialized classes at CNM (nursing, emergency medical services, etc.), you may be required to get a specialized ID to participate in practicums.

Information about these requirements will be provided by your instructor.

Please call ahead to make sure your instructor has sent the approved list for the current semester. If they haven't, we won't be able to make your ID.

Faculty & Staff IDs

Faculty and staff are required to carry their CNM ID on them at all times while on campus.

The ID contains the employee's full name and employee ID number.

Guest IDs

If you are not currently a CNM student, you can get a Guest ID for the current semester. In order to prevent unauthorized use and access to CNM computer networks and comply with the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA), all CNM guests are required to get a guest account.

You can get a guest ID at Main, Montoya, and Westside campuses and it will give you access to the CNM Libraries and open computer labs.

Guest ID Costs

Before you pay for your Guest ID, visit the ID Office to get a form to take to the Cashiers Office.

  • Guest ID: $15
  • Guest ID term renewal: $15
  • Replacement Guest ID: $25
  • Guest ID for UNM students: Free
  • Guest ID for UNM, APS, and RRPS faculty or staff: Free
  • Guest ID sponsored by department or school: Free

Guest Lecturers and Conference Attendees

If you are guest teaching a class or attending a conference on campus and need temporary computer access, your sponsoring school or department can request a guest pass free of charge for the duration of the event.

Contact the ITS Support Center at (505) 224-HELP (4357) or e-mail for more information. In this situation, there may not be a fee and no ID card will be issued.

Replacement Cards

All replacement IDs for students who have taken CNM courses in the past year will cost $25. The replacement ID will cost $50 if your ID had a bus pass sticker on it.

To get your ID replaced, you will need to pay for the replacement fee at the Cashiers Office and bring the receipt to the ID Office.
