CNM Employees on the Out/Ally List help create inclusive spaces for students to talk about sexual orientation or gender issues.

The Out/Ally List

Out/Ally employees are CNM staff and faculty who are dedicated to providing inclusive spaces for students to talk about sexual orientation or gender identity issues. Many staff and faculty have completed Safe Zone Training or other trainings that improve our understanding of LGBTQIA2S+ needs.

The Out/Ally List, organized alphabetically by last name, is updated regularly to honor those who have chosen to be visible online. Please note that that there are many more in the CNM community who may not appear on this list but are still here to support and uplift you.

Employees on this list who are Safe Zone trained have an 'x' in the Safe Zone column. Additionally, when you see the SafeZone sticker beside a CNM staff or faculty office, you know you have found an inclusive space to talk about sexual orientation or gender identity issues.

Safe Zone and Other Trainings

CNM offers Safe Zone Training in Workday for staff and faculty to learn about LGBTQIA2S+ identities, gender and sexuality, and to unlearn prejudice. Every Safe Zone member has attended at minimum a three-hour seminar and has agreed to provide a listening ear and positive resources or referrals.

Alongside Safe Zone Training, CNM also offers Transgender Cultural Fluency and Transgender 201 training in Workday to help improve your understanding of LGBTQIA2S+ issues and provide the necessary supports to transgender students.
