Carpentry Program

This program provides you with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and technical skills necessary to gain employment in the construction industry. You will read and interpret construction blueprints, experience techniques using concrete for foundations, framing of building walls, erecting roofing systems, installing drywall and taping. You will focus on taping and bedding and wall finishes as well as exterior and interior door hanging, window installation and trim work.

The building of a “cottage” from the ground up is a required part of the carpentry curriculum. The application of the International Residential Code is emphasized. Additional courses are available to enhance this program of study.
