January 22, 2026

At the January Governing Board meeting, three incumbent Governing Board members – Thomas Swisstack, Nancy Baca, and Robert Schoenfelder – were sworn in to new four-year terms after winning their election contests in November. A new Governing Board member for District 1, Elizabeth Alarid, won her election contest and was also sworn in to her four-year term at the Board meeting.

The Board also took a vote on reorganization of Board leadership positions. Annette Chavez y De La Cruz, representing District 4, was voted in as Board Chair. Nancy Baca, representing Disctrict 5, was voted in as Board Vice Chair, and James Chavez, representing District 2, was voted in as Board Secretary.
