CNM Ingenuity Board of Directors Announces New President and Vice President

Mark J. Fidel will serve as President and Henry South as Vice President

CNM Ingenuity is excited to announce Mark J. Fidel will now serve as the President of its Board of Directors and Henry South as Vice President. 

Founded in 2014, CNM Ingenuity is an economic development arm of Central New Mexico Community College that provides accelerated educational and training opportunities in key workforce areas, wrap-around support for aspiring entrepreneurs, and cooperative ventures that foster economic development and job creation.

“I am thankful to Lorna Wiggins as prior President to the CNM Ingenuity board for her thoughtful guidance and experience helping Ingenuity navigate through the challenging years of COVID, and I am excited to continue and grow with Mark Fidel and Henry South as President and Vice President of the CNM Ingenuity Board,” said Kyle Lee, CEO of Ingenuity. “Together we will help change lives and build communities with Ingenuity’s forward thinking strategic plan.”

Both Mr. Fidel and Mr. South bring extensive experience in these key fields and will begin serving immediately. 

Mr. Fidel recently ended a 17-year career in the cybersecurity industry. In 2006, Mr. Fidel co-Founded CAaNES, LLC which was established as RiskSense, Inc., in 2015. In 2021, Ivanti, Inc., purchased RiskSense. After a successful transition period of two years, Mr. Fidel has started a consulting firm focused on established technology companies in need of business development, operational efficiencies, cyber risk management and market expansion services, specifically in State, Local and Education markets, nationwide.

In addition to serving as CNM Ingenuity’s Board President, he is the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Bosque School, the Chair of the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Civil Legal Service Commission, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation. He is a member of the New Mexico Technology Council, and has served as Chair of the Board of Directors for HopeWorks, a non-profit focused on ending homelessness in Albuquerque. 

Mr. South has been a certified public accountant since 1974 and managed Atkinson & Co. Ltd. for over 20 years, During his time in practice he provided tax, business valuation, accounting, and management advisory services to privately owned businesses, estates and trusts, individuals, and non-profit organizations. Mr. South is currently retired but excited to bring his expertise to the CNM Ingenuity Board.
