CNM is proud to announce that our students took home 28 medals in 12 separate categories during the 2026 SkillsUSA New Mexico State Leadership and Skills Conference this past week. Of those, 12 students won gold, 10 won silver, and 6 won bronze.

The event, hosted by CNM, featured over 900 middle school, high school, and post-secondary student competitors from around the state who competed in over 60 career and technical education events ranging from culinary arts to welding.

CNM’s gold medalists will now get the opportunity to represent the college and New Mexico at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta, GA from June 1-5. The National conference is the largest gathering of America’s future skilled workforce with over 19,000 students from across the country showcasing their career and technical skills.
