November 9, 2016 -- Ten CNM students picked up trash and cleaned areas around an acequia at Matthew Meadows Park, near 12th Street and Menaul in Albuquerque. It was the grand finale to CNM’s “Water in the Desert” educational series. Water in the Desert is a Campus as a Living Lab and Sustainability Curriculum initiative at CNM.
November 11, 2016 -- The fourth cohort of entrepreneurs from the IGNITE Community Accelerator at the CNM STEMulus Center celebrated the conclusion of an intensive 12-week program by pitching their companies and demonstrating their products to the community on IGNITE Day, Nov. 11.
Nov. 9, 2016 -- At the monthly CNM Governing Board meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Board approved a proclamation for a CNM Governing Board Election on Feb. 7, 2017.
November 15, 2016 -- Several local companies will be on hand at the CNM Workforce Training Center Nov. 18 to sign an agreement to participate in the newly-established New Mexico Information Technology Apprenticeship Program (NMITAP). The signing is one of hundreds of events across the county held as part of the U.S. Department of Labor’s National Apprenticeship Week.
November 2, 2016 -- About 60 students from Manzano and Eldorado high schools who are participating in a “Teacher Cadet” program recently visited CNM and attended workshops in preparation for a CNM dual credit Introduction to Teaching class they’ll be taking in the spring.

October 26, 2016 -- Students in a Computer Information Systems Competency Based Special Topics class learned powerful lessons about homelessness in a dramatic way over the past couple of months through a class video project.
October 26, 2016 -- CNM was recently awarded a silver rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) for its sustainability efforts. AASHE administers the Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS) to which CNM reports.
October 26, 2016 -- CNM’s Theatre Department will be presenting the premiere of “Divorce Dorm,” written and directed by faculty member Susan Erickson, beginning Nov.10 at CNM’s Coal Avenue Theatre on Main Campus. CNM students serve as actors and will be working on all phases of the production.
October 24, 2016 -- A wide variety of employers will be available to inform CNM students about job opportunities during the monthly Employer Recruitment Event on Main Campus on Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Student Services Center, Room 108.

October 19, 2016 -- About 200 students from six programs in the School of Health, Wellness & Public Safety will be responding to a large-scale mock emergency situation as a learning exercise on Friday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon. It will occur at the east end of the Student Resource Center, the SRC lawn, the JS Building and the S Building. The mock scenario will involve a domestic violence situation that turns into a deadly shooting in the SRC Richard Barr Boardroom.
October 17, 2016 -- Thanks to a partnership between CNM and the University of New Mexico, students can now start an expedited path at CNM that will lead to a CNM Associate Degree, a UNM Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, and ultimately a UNM Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
October 12, 2016 -- Students in CNM’s microbiology classes on Main and Westside campuses are learning in a way only a few other colleges around the country offer. For the first time, they are using computer tablets for notetaking in the labs.
October 12, 2016 -- Students in CNM’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Paramedic Program have a valuable new training environment to hone their skills in before being deployed to the field – the confines of an ambulance. School of Applied Technologies (AT) Automotive and Welding students recently completed a training trailer constructed around an actual ambulance body.
October 12, 2016 -- Three graduates of the CNM STEMulus Center’s Deep Dive Coding Bootcamp, along with a student from the School of Business & Information Technology, have helped develop the state’s first website dedicated to listing internships available to students in New Mexico.
Oct. 11, 2016 -- Students are invited to participate in the fourth-annual UNM/CNM Mobile App Contest, which provides students the opportunity to develop and apply coding skills to make useful mobile applications. The contest is designed to inspire students to take their creativity to the next level, develop coding skills and to yield apps that can improve the experience of our students and community.
Oct. 6, 2016 -- CNM students in the Computer Information Systems (CIS) Program in the School of Business & Information Technology (BIT) have been working with the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History to develop a virtual docent application.
Oct. 5, 2016 -- CNM students, along with teammates from the University of New Mexico, took home the top three prizes at a recent hackathon for budding computer programmers hosted by Rural Sourcing, Inc.
September 29, 2016 -- HoneyMoon Brewery, a startup cofounded by CNM STEMulus Center’s Deep Dive Coding Bootcamp graduate James Hill, won $200,000 this week as the grand prize winner in the nationwide 2016 Miller Lite Tap the Future competition.
