The CNM Health Center that’s located in the Student Services Center on Main Campus will no longer perform medical procedures and medical consultations after Oct. 30. CNM will continue to provide mental health counseling in the same location.
October 28, 2015 -- For the sixth year in a row, CNM biology, anatomy and physiology instructor and avid cyclist Jennifer Buntz has installed a “ghost bike” exhibit as part of the Dia de los Muertos Ofrendas at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC).

October 22, 2015 -- Jeremy Pecotte, who earned an associate degree in Emergency Medical Services from CNM, was one of several people honored by Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry earlier this week for helping to save the life of a Brazilian balloon pilot who was having a heart attack at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
October 22, 2015 -- Forget about the classrooms and labs for a night. On Oct. 30 from 4-7 p.m., Ted Chavez Hall will transform into a spooky haunted house where zombies and ghosts will roam the halls and Frankenstein will sit in an electrocution chair.
Oct. 16, 2015 -- CNM’s STEM-UP program will be hosting information tables and flash advising opportunities for students interested in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) daily from Monday, Oct. 19, through Thursday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The flash advising tables will be set up in the Student Resource Center breezeway on Main Campus.
October 14, 2015 -- In an effort to make the CNM community aware that storm water flowing into storm drains carrying ground pollution goes directly to the Rio Grande, CNM students and instructors placed storm drain markers on drains around Main Campus.

Oct. 8, 2015 -- CNM joined community colleges across the nation in a moment of silence to honor the shooting victims from last week’s tragedy at Umpqua Community College in Oregon.
Oct. 8, 2015 -- Dr. Dennis McQuillan, geologist for the Environment Department and technical lead for the Kirtland Fuel Spill Remediation Project, will speak about his work on the spill and similar endeavors with the Animas River cleanup on Oct. 14 from 6-7 p.m. in the CNM Student Resource Center, Room 204.
October 14, 2015 -- Eight CNM faculty members will be reading from their original works on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. on Main Campus in the Student Resource Center, Room 204. The readings will serve as the kick off event for Leonardo, CNM’s longstanding, once- a-year student literary magazine that will be accepting student literary submissions for the magazine from Oct. 20 through Feb. 1.

September 17, 2015 -- The AARP Foundation, a grantee of the Social Innovation Fund, awarded Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) a subgrant designed to help women age 50 and older prepare for new careers. The subgrant will be for $175,000 per year for three years.
September 16, 2015 -- CNM faculty members have a high-tech, engaging new tool for teaching students. It’s CNM Glass, a system that captures video of short lectures presented by instructors who write on a tempered glass board instead of a whiteboard or blackboard. The technology behind the glass allows instructors to face students while writing on the glass board, creating more dynamic lectures that can provide more clarity and a more engaging learning experience for students.
Sept. 10, 2015 -- The U.S. Department of Labor announced on Wednesday that it is awarding CNM with a $2,999,553 grant as part of its $175 million American Apprenticeship Grants.
