March 10, 2015 -- CNM’s Theatre Department is proud to present “Main Street, Portales: Two One-Act Plays” by New Mexican playwright Leonard Madrid, beginning March 13 at CNM’s Coal Avenue Theatre.
Feb. 17, 2015 -- The School of Math, Science & Engineering is hosting the first CNM Career Fair for students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Health fields on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Main Campus Student Services Center in the hallway outside of the cafeteria.
February 17, 2015 -- Fourteen CNM students have been named to the Phi Theta Kappa New Mexico All-State Academic Team and each will receive a $15,000 scholarship. They were recently honored at the New Mexico Legislature and will be recognized at the March 10 CNM Governing Board meeting.
Feb. 16, 2015 -- Juan Melendez, who spent nearly 18 years on death row for a crime he did not commit, will be speaking about his remarkable story of injustice, survival and hope at the Montoya Campus on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. in the J Building, Room 122. The event is free.
Feb. 13, 2015 -- Now is the time to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2015-16 school year. CNM Financial Aid staff will be on hand at upcoming workshops to help students fill out the paperwork and answer any questions. Students can also get information or apply for 2015-16 CNM scholarships. The workshops will take place Feb. 16, 18 and 19 at 10 a.m. to noon or 1-3 p.m. on Main Campus in the Student Services Center, Room 204-B.
February 11, 2015 -- Families, educators, child care centers and home child-care providers now have a new resource for teaching. It’s an Early Childhood Toy Lending and Resource Library at the CNM South Valley Campus.
Feb. 9, 2015 -- The Samaritan Counseling Center of Albuquerque announced its annual New Mexico Ethics in Business Award winners this week. CNM received the Hopkins Award for Excellence in Ethical Practice by a Non-Profit Organization.
February 6, 2015 -- A painting of a CNM student dressed in the signature blue graduation cap and gown, proudly waving a diploma in the air surrounded by sunlight, was unveiled Friday night as the art image that will represent the college’s 50th anniversary.
Feb. 4, 2015 -- CNM’s longstanding Tax Help New Mexico program provides free tax preparation service for people whose household income was $53,000 or less in 2014 or those who are 65 years or older. Sites are now open through the tax filing deadline across the state.
February 3, 2015 -- For the second year in a row, CNM is going for green greatness by entering the RecycleMania Tournament alongside more than 390 colleges and universities from across the U.S. and Canada. The competition is under way, and you’re on the CNM team. Help score points for the college, and more importantly the planet, by dropping all of your recyclable waste into nearby recycle bins.
February 3, 2015 -- As the first event of the 2015 RecycleMania Tournament, CNM is sponsoring a tour on Friday, Feb. 6, of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified buildings on Main Campus. The tour, which is open to students, is co-sponsored by the New Mexico Student and Emerging Professionals Chapter of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
Jan. 28, 2014 -- CNM is changing the way it delivers financial aid funds to students, which requires all students receiving financial aid for the Spring Term to re-enter their information in myCNM.
January 26, 2015 -- The owners of 10 fledgling businesses have been selected for the first IGNITE Community Accelerator at the CNM STEMulus Center.

Jan. 16, 2014 -- In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, CNM will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19. The Spring Term will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
January 14, 2015 -- Lavu, Inc., an Albuquerque-based technology company with customers in 85 countries, has donated $20,000 to the Central New Mexico Community College Foundation for scholarships. The scholarships will be about $800 each and will be awarded to students studying entrepreneurship or students in the English as a Second Language program.
Jan. 14, 2014 -- Since CNM will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Student Services Center on Main Campus will be open on Saturday, Jan. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help students with any last-minute needs before the Spring Term starts on Jan. 20.
January 7, 2015 -- CNM will strive to help faculty, staff and students become healthier and more physically fit by the year 2017, thanks to a memorandum of understanding the college recently signed with the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA).
