Representative Images of BIT The School of Business & Information Technology (BIT), one of the largest instructional divisions at CNM, offers a wide range of academic programs—from the more traditional curricula of Accounting, Business Administration, and Computer Information Systems to diverse offerings in Culinary Arts and Hospitality & Tourism.  With over 75 full-time faculty members and a large pool of adjunct faculty from which to draw upon, students in BIT benefit from both seasoned instructors and accomplished industry-wide professionals.

Our faculty, staff, and programs provide opportunities for students to “Build Business Careers.”  Preparing learners for the world of business and information technology is critical for success in the global economy.  The School of Business & Information Technology offers certificates and associate degree programs as well as education and training for professional development and workforce education.  Our 2+2 programs are readily transferrable to a 4-year institution. Students may also enroll in the Cisco Academy and programs that support industry certifications such as Microsoft and Oracle.

The School of Business & Information Technology prepares students to transfer to four-year institutions, to gain employment while enhancing skills used in the workplace, and to participate in diverse lifelong learning opportunities.  Courses are scheduled at most CNM campuses.  Modes of instructional delivery range from traditional face-to-face classes to distance learning opportunities, thus meeting the flexible needs of our students. Some courses, both blended and hybrid, incorporate both face-to-face and online instruction.

While BIT prides itself of instructional expertise and state of the art technology, the source of the school’s greatest pride is its students.  The school fosters a student-centered learning environment that benefits from individuals with diverse backgrounds, global perspectives, and unique aspirations.  BIT offers its students many resources.  The Assistance Centers for Education (ACE) Business Resource Center offers a wealth of one-on-one assistance including tutors. Students may also avail themselves of an achievement coach.  BIT students find belonging to student associations and clubs to be an enriching experience.

The School of Business & Information Technology (BIT) is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).  Other specialized professional accrediting and approving organizations include the  American Culinary Federation. BIT collaborates with other postsecondary institutions and relies upon input from community advisory groups.
