New Student Account Log In
This page provides information about the new CNM student domain and step-by-step instructions on how to log in.
New Student Domain and Email Addresses
Please reach out to ITS Support with any questions or trouble logging in.
CNM is transitioning all student accounts from the current domain (admin.ad.cnm.edu) to a new student domain (student.ad.cnm.edu). As a part of this transition, student email addresses will be updated from @cnm.edu to @student.cnm.edu.
- Nearly 100,000 student accounts will be migrated throughout the Fall Term, between September and December 2025.
- The ITS Department will contact students via email and text just prior to their account migration to inform them of the change.
- See step-by-step instructions below for information about how to log in after your CNM student has been migrated.
- Although the email address is changing, usernames and passwords remain the same.
- Starting immediately, messages sent to @cnm.edu or @student.cnm.edu go to the same inbox, so you won’t miss anything. This alias is active and ready to use, even before an account is migrated. Both addresses will continue to work until the migration is complete in November or December 2025.
- Be sure to update any external accounts, like Spotify, Amazon, or social media, with your new email address.
- New student accounts created during the Fall term will be migrated at the end of the term.
Students Who Are CNM Employees
- Student accounts will be created for employees after all non-employee accounts are migrated, likely November 2025.
- Employees will have two active accounts after their student account is created.
- To maintain separation between student and employee accounts, employee emails will not receive a @student.cnm.edu alias.
- Employees who are also students will be required to type admin\username when logging into a CNM computer with their employee (@cnm.edu) account.
Logging Into a CNM Student Account
Log out and log back into your CNM account after your account has been migrated to ensure all changes take effect.
- In a browser, navigate to the CNM resource that requires logging in, such as Brightspace, myCNM, or Outlook.
- Type the email address using the new format: [email protected].
- Type the current password. Passwords remain unchanged during the account migration.
- If prompted, complete two-factor authentication, to verify your identity.
Logging Into a CNM Computer
Use the following steps to log into a CNM computer on the student domain.
- In the Username field, type STUDENT\username.
- Type the current password. Passwords remain unchanged during the account migration.
Note: CNM students who are also employed at the College will be required to type admin\username when logging into a CNM computer with their employee (@cnm.edu) account.
