New Student Account Log In

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to log in to your CNM student account using the new domain.

CNM is transitioning all student accounts from the current domain (admin.ad.cnm.edu) to a new student domain (student.ad.cnm.edu). As a part of this transition, student email addresses will be updated from @cnm.edu to @student.cnm.edu. See step-by-step instructions below for information about how to log in to your CNM student account using the new domain.

Due to the large number of student accounts, the migration process will take place throughout the Fall 2025 term, between September and December. The ITS Department will contact students just prior to their account migration to inform them of the change.

New student accounts created during the Fall term will be migrated at the end of the term.

Once a new student account is created ([email protected]), messages sent to the former email address ([email protected]) will be temporarily rerouted to the new address. However, students who are also CNM employees will have two active accounts after their student account is created.

Although the email address is changing, usernames and passwords remain the same.

Why CNM is Making These Changes

The new system ensures better security, less manual work, faster access for students and employees, and a more consistent experience. Whether you’re a student, employee, or both, your access will be clearer and better organized.

  • Improve security: The new system makes sure only the right people have access to the right things based on their roles.
  • Separate student and employee accounts: Currently if someone is a student and an employee, they have just one account, which causes confusion and increases security risks. Moving forward, student and employee accounts will be segmented better protect data.
  • Support Workday and other systems: This new solution integrates with Workday to automate account creation and management, replacing our current in-house system and various custom scripts.
  • Modernize: This is part of a larger effort to update CNM’s digital systems so they work better together and are easier to manage.
