New Student Account Log In and Email Addresses

This page explains CNM’s Fall 2025 student email and account migration, including what’s changing, the schedule, and step-by-step instructions on how to log in.

Please reach out to ITS Support with any questions or trouble logging in.

What's Changing?

CNM is moving all student accounts to a new student domain between September and December 2025.

  • Student email addresses will be changed from @cnm.edu to @student.cnm.edu.
  • Usernames and passwords remain the same.
  • See step-by-step instructions below for information about how to log in after your CNM student account has been migrated.
  • Messages sent to @cnm.edu or @student.cnm.edu go to the same inbox until the migration is complete (Nov-Dec 2025). This alias is active and ready to use, even before an account is migrated.
  • Update accounts, like Spotify, Amazon, or social media, with your new email.
  • New student accounts created during the Fall term will be migrated at the end of the term.
Proposed Migration Schedule

Student account migrations are scheduled by last name. Please note these dates are subject to change, but students will receive an email and text just prior to account changes.

September 11 September 18  September 25 October 2 October 9 October 16 October 23 October 30
A - B C - D E - G H - L M - P  Q - S T - V W - Z

Migration for new student accounts and employees who are enrolled in classes will occur on November 6, regardless of last name.

Students Who Are CNM Employees

Student accounts for employees will be created after all non-employee accounts are migrated, likely November 2025.

Employees will have two active accounts after their student account is created:

  • Employee account: @cnm.edu (no @student.cnm.edu alias)
  • Student account: @student.cnm.edu

Why CNM is Making These Changes

  • Improve security: Ensures only the right people have the right access.
  • Clear separation between student and employee accounts.
  • Integration with Workday and other systems for automated account management.
  • Modernize systems for faster, easier access and reduced manual work.
