Early Childhood Multicultural Education Program
The certificate option is for teachers who are currently working in a classroom setting, and the degree is designed for you if you are working or would like to work in the field of early childhood (PreK–3rd grade). We offer classes in English and Spanish, on evenings and weekends, and have specialized Bilingual advisement and support. Financial aid and scholarships are available through CYFD. The degree option is fully transferable to any college or university in New Mexico with an early childhood bachelor’s degree.
Graduates are eligible to apply for a One Year Vocational Certificate issued by the New Mexico Office of Child Development. You are employed almost immediately upon graduation in various professions from an educational system to a child care setting. CNM is a low-cost high quality education option.
"The Child Development Certificate (CDC) coursework has helped me to see myself as a professional who makes a difference in my community. My knowledge of child development has changed the way that I see children and families, and I am confident about the difference I can make as an educator."
