Return and Reapplication to CNM

Learn about how to return to CNM if you've been away only a short while, and what steps to take if you've been away longer.

If you've recently attended CNM, returning is easy. In many cases, you will not be required to reapply and can get back to registering for classes. Please see the information below regarding returning to CNM and what you need to do.


Determine Whether You Need to Reapply

You don't need to reapply if

  • You've taken 1-2 terms off and have attended CNM within the last year.
  • You recently applied (applications stay valid for three terms), but never attended CNM.

If either of the above applies, you'll be able to register for classes during open registration. Remember to update us with any changes (address, name, residency status, etc.) that might have happened in the time you were away.

You need to reapply if

  • You are absent from CNM for three or more terms.
  • You are changing from a Dual Credit program.
  • You were previously taking non-credit courses.

If you're ready, reapply now. You can also review the enrollment process if you need a refresher.

Reapplication Steps and Tips

Hint: We have found that using a Google Chrome or Firefox web browser provides the best experience. We also recommend clearing your browser history. Some tips on clearing browser history can be found here.

Having trouble logging in? Try some of these steps:

If you DO have access to your CNM email address (or are still an active student):
  1. Follow this link to open the Application Login page.
  2. Select "Forgot Password?" to open the Application Password Reset page.
  3. Enter your CNM Email Address.
  4. Click on "Send Password Reset Email."
  5. Login to myCNM with your username and password.
  6. Retrieve the email from Salesforce and click on the link provided.
  7. Reset your password (use something memorable).
  8. Return to the Application Login page.
  9. Enter your CNM email address and the password you just created.
  10. Click on "Begin Application."

If you DO NOT have access to your CNM email address and you are receiving an error that you are an "active" student:
  1. Follow this link to open the Application Login page.
  2. Select "First time here? Create an account" to start a new application.
  3. Enter your legal first and last name.
  4. Enter an email address that is not your CNM address (Gmail/Yahoo/etc.) but add +1 after the username and before the @ symbol (e.g., firstnamelastname+1@gmail.com).
  5. Enter your mobile phone number.
  6. Do not enter anything in the blue "Former CNM Student" box.
  7. Create a password and go through the “I’m not a robot” reCAPTCHA.
  8. Click on "Sign Up."

Registering for Classes

When you're ready to register for classes, remember to:

  • Access myCNMLogin to myCNM to access your Financial Aid information, check your email, and more. This will also be where you register for classes.
  • View the Schedule of Classes: Before registering for classes, view available classes, and make your perfect schedule for the term.
  • Reset Your PIN (if needed)If you are returning to CNM and don't remember your PIN, call Admissions at (505) 224-3000 to have it reset.
  • Contact a Navigator (if needed): A CNM Navigator is ready to help you, from application to registration and beyond. They’ll send you a text and email after you’ve applied. You can also contact a Navigator
