Registration Waitlists

Being on a Waitlist does not guarantee a new section of the class will be created, registration in a class, and does not waive a course prerequisite or co-requisite.

The Waitlist Process

If an opening occurs in the class, the first person on the waitlist will be notified.

If that person does not register for the class within the allowed time, the second person on the list will be notified.

If three openings occur in the class, the first three people on the list will be notified.

Did You Know?

Albuquerque Public Libraries and Rio Rancho Public Libraries have computers that can be used by those with a valid library card.  Some libraries are open evenings and weekends.

What's It Mean to be Waitlisted?

If a class is full, students may put their names on a registration Waitlist, if available. Classes with special enrollment restrictions do not have Waitlists. Students can view their position on the Waitlist through their EduNav registration portal, by clicking on the Course Reference Number (CRN) associated with their waitlisted course. We offer Helpful Videos that demonstrate how to find this information.

If space becomes available in a course:

  • The first student on the list will be notified via their myCNM e-mail account. It is highly recommended that Waitlisted students check their myCNM email account daily. The Waitlist system operates 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
  • Students can register for the course through their EduNav registration portal. We offer Helpful Videos that demonstrate how to complete this process. Daily system maintenance does occur between 10 p.m. and midnight. Registration is unavailable during this time and students should plan accordingly.
  • If a student does not register for the class within the time allotted in the email notification, they will be removed from the waitlist.
  • Only students on the Waitlist can register for the class.

Waitlist Charts

Registration Waitlists are turned off two days before the start of each part of term. If the Waitlist is turned off for the part of term your course was offered in, all students will be removed from the Waitlist and students will not be able to Waitlist for the course again. These charts list the last day to go on the Waitlist for all parts of term in:

New Sections are Added as Necessary

  • New section considerations include instructor availability, classroom or lab accessibility, and the college’s minimum class enrollment criteria.
  • New sections may need to be added on different days and times.
  • If a new section is opened, academic schools will email each student on the Waitlist at their myCNM email account. Waitlisted students will be given the opportunity to enroll in the new section, before it is made available to all CNM students.
  • Students should not directly contact the academic school, program chair, director, or class instructor.
  • When a class is reserved for the registration of Waitlisted students, all other students trying to register for the class will receive the following message “Temp Reserved for WL Students.”
