Tax Help New Mexico sites will be open through April 15 – the Main Campus site will be open until midnight on April 15, the filing deadline.

Tax Help New Mexico is a free tax preparation service for those who had a household income of less than $51,000 in 2012 or anybody who is age 65 or older. Tax Help volunteers are certified by the IRS and are trained to help taxpayers identify tax credits they’re entitled to. Tax Help is operated in partnership between CNM and the United Way of Central New Mexico. For locations, hours and information on documents needed, visit

Free Electronic Filing Service for Those Who Earned $57,000 or Less in 2012

Tax Help New Mexico also offers access to self-preparation tax software, at the CNM Main Campus and CNM Westside campus. Students or the general public can come in and e-file both their federal and state taxes themselves, while having a CNM staff member present to assist when needed. The service also allows you to have your return directly deposited to a banking account.

Access to this software through Tax Help is free and available to students and the general public with an adjusted gross income of $57,000.00 or less in 2012.
