Ready to Graduate?

If you have completed (or are about to complete) your degree requirements, you can apply to graduate during the term in which you finish your final courses. You will graduate in the term for which you have a graduation application on file and in which you meet all requirements—even if there’s no ceremony that semester. Once degrees and certificates have been awarded for a term, any new requests are processed at the end of the following term.

    How to Apply for Graduation

    Important Note

Please update your address and phone number under the Students tab in myCNM so we can contact you if needed.

    Evaluate Your Program Completion Status

    1. Sign into your myCNM account.
    2. Select the Graduation tab.
    3. Select CNM Degree Works in the Graduation Quick Links portal near the top center of the page.
    4. Check if there is a 'Graduation Application' and/or 'Prior Awards' notification. You may already have been awarded or have current application on file.
    5. Review your online evaluation to ensure all certificate and/or degree requirements are met.
    6. Select What-If on the left side of your main Program Evaluation for your declared major.
    7. Under 'Select your primary area of study,' enter the catalog year, degree, and—if applicable— concentration(s).
      • If you have more than one concentration, use 'Select your additional areas of study,' enter the next concentration, and select Add.
      • You can have up to three concentrations per degree.
    8. Select Process What-If. Make sure 'Include Pre-Registered' is NOT checked when you run the evaluation. Including pre-registered courses can lead to an inaccurate evaluation because they will be counted as 'in progress.'

    Apply to Graduate

If your What-If evaluation shows the program is 98% or 100% completed, you are ready to apply.

    1. Complete the Graduation Application form.
    2. Once the Graduation Application is received and processed, you will be notified within 3-5 business days.

    Participate in the Graduation Ceremony

Once your graduation application is accepted, CNM Student Activities will send an invitation to your CNM email. Use the link in that email to sign up and register for the ceremony. More information about graduation ceremony details will be sent via email and in The Scratch!, CNM's student e-newsletter.

If you have questions about the ceremony, please email Student Activities at [email protected].

If You Are Not Attending the Graduation Ceremony
You do not need to attend the ceremony to receive your diploma or certificate. Within 24-48 hours after your award is granted, you will receive an email from Michael Sutter Co. or BlockCert with diploma request options. For more information, please visit our Request Your Diploma webpage
