New Mexico Scholarship Transfer

Learn how to transfer your New Mexico scholarship funds to or from CNM.

Students Transferring from CNM to Another NM Institution

Students who have received the Legislative Lottery Scholarship, Legislative Endowment Scholarship or NM Scholars and are transferring from CNM to another state institution need to complete a New Mexico Scholarship Transfer Transcript Form.

This form is available online or in-person at Financial Aid and Scholarship Services. This is not an official transcript but a separate request form verifying Legislative Lottery, Legislative Endowment, or New Mexico Scholars awards and eligibility.

  1. Complete a Transfer Transcript request at CNM. This form is available online or in-person at Financial Aid and Scholarship Services. This is not an official transcript but a separate request form verifying prior Legislative Lottery awards and eligibility.
  2. A Transfer Transcript needs to be signed and turned in to the Financial Aid and Scholarship Services. Please wait until after final grades have been posted for the student's last term of attendance at CNM.
  3. CNM Financial Aid and Scholarship Services will complete the Transfer Transcript and fax it to the school indicated on the request. This process will take approximately two working days.
  4. The school the student is transferring to will evaluate the Transfer Transcript and the student’s record in order to determine Legislative Lottery eligibility.

Students Transferring to CNM from Another NM Institution

Students who attended another state institution and received the Legislative Lottery Scholarship, Legislative Endowment Scholarship or NM Scholars and are transferring to CNM need to request a New Mexico Scholarship Transfer Transcript from their prior institution. The completed form will be sent by the institution to CNM. Once the student’s New Mexico Scholarship Transfer Transcript has been received by CNM the student’s record will be evaluated for eligibility.

  1. Contact the school that awarded you the Legislative Lottery Scholarship or where you have successful completed your Qualifying Term. They will be able to direct you to the office where you can complete and sign a Transfer Transcript.
  2. Complete a Transfer Transcript request indicating Legislative Lottery Scholarship eligibility information to be sent to CNM. You will need to wait until grades have been posted for your final term of attendance at that institution before the request can be completed and sent. This is not a request for an official transcript but a separate request form verifying prior Legislative Lottery eligibility and awards. CNM cannot use your official transcript for Legislative Lottery evaluation purposes.
  3. Once your information has been received by CNM your record will be evaluated for Legislative Lottery Scholarship eligibility and you will be awarded if eligible. Approximately one week after you submit your request you should contact CNM Financial Aid and Scholarship Services to make certain that your Transfer Transcript has been received.
