Over the coming weeks we’ll be taking a behind-the-scenes look at some of CNM’s highly regarded programs that serve our state’s workforce needs
June 17, 2021

After graduating from the CNM Plumbing and Gas Fitting program, students are immediately ready to enter the workforce and will be able to install, repair, and maintain common residential and commercial plumbing and piping systems. Topics covered include plumbing safety, blueprint reading, gas fitting, pipe layout, drain waste and vent piping systems, backflow prevention, system maintenance and repair, and hydronic systems. The median wage for plumbers, pipe fitters and steamfitters is currently $42,844. The median wage for boilermakers is $62,272. To learn a little more about the program, we sent CNM photographer Noah McDonald to shoot photos during a recent class.

After graduating, students will be able to use their soldering and brazing skills on both residential and commercial jobs.

Copper pipping is used for water heaters in residences and also common on large industrial projects.

Students in the Plumbing and Gas Fitting program gain lots of hands-on experience in class so that they are immediately ready to enter the workforce.

If you know anyone who's interested in CNM's program, please encourage them to learn more here.
