CNM Sets New Records for Number of Graduates and Graduation Awards

Aug. 31, 2017 -- The numbers are in for the 2016-17 academic year, and CNM has surged to all-time records for number of graduates and graduation awards in an academic year. CNM awarded 13,778 graduation awards (associate degrees and certificates) to 9,075 students, both of which eclipsed previous CNM records.

August 29, 3017 -- Barbara Gilbert, a CNM physics and engineering faculty member, spent part of her summer sharing her experiences as a woman in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) field, including being a motivational speaker to councilors at a girls’ camp, Tech Trek, held at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. She also was the Corona High School commencement speaker.

CNM Ingenuity, Local Startup Partner to Provide Easy Access to Robot Technology

CNM Named National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense

August 16, 2017 -- CNM has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense. School officials learned about the acceptance last week and will receive its CAE certificate at a National Initiative for Cyber Security Education (NICE) conference Nov. 7-8 in Dayton, Ohio.

CNM Flamenco Instructor Honored by ‘Dance Teacher’ Magazine

July 18, 2017 -- CNM flamenco instructor Bridgit Lujan has been selected for the 2017 Higher Education Dance Teacher Award, a national teaching award from “Dance Teacher” magazine that recognizes four dance educators from the U.S. every year. She and the other recipients in different dance categories will be honored at an awards ceremony in Long Beach, Calif., Aug. 5.
