Distinguished Alumni Award Goes to Entrepreneur and Laser Technology Inventor

October 16, 2017 -- Last week, the CNM Foundation announced John Joseph as the 2017 CNM Distinguished Alumni Award winner at the annual CNM Foundation Dinner. Joseph graduated in 1980 from CNM with an associate degree in Laser Electro Optics, which helped pave the way for his extraordinary career.

He is the founder of OptiPulse, a very promising company that’s producing a new optical wireless technology that could revolutionize high-speed communications and broadband. Joseph is the inventor of the technology and he’s also president of OptiPulse. Before founding OptiPulse, he founded and launched three successful start-ups, including TriLumina, which is built upon one of his previous laser electro-optics patents. He has 12 patents in laser electro-optics, including one for the technology that powers OptiPulse.

Joseph has also worked for Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratories, EMCORE and others. He has over 35 years of experience in semiconductor laser design and processing.
