As a part of their goal to train 1 million people and small businesses in digital skills by 2020, Facebook is providing 32 non-credit scholarships to CNM Ingenuity’s Deep Dive Coding Bootcamps, starting with cohorts beginning in May 2019.

Deep Dive Coding, a 10-week, 40 hours-per-week bootcamp, was founded in 2013 by a private entity and acquired by CNM Ingenuity in 2014. It was created to help fill the significant coding skills gap in central New Mexico’s economy while providing an accelerated coding education for those seeking quick entry into high-demand coding jobs, or to support their small business endeavors.

The scholarship application deadline for the Java+Android and Digital Media bootcamps beginning in May is April 12, 2019. The deadline to apply for scholarships for the July Fullstack bootcamp is May 13, 2019.

Applicants must be a resident of Albuquerque or a surrounding community, have a high school diploma or equivalent, be interested in gaining employment as a web or application developer or digital designer, and be willing not to work or go to school for 10-12 weeks. Full-time bootcamp students put in a minimum of 60 hours per week.

The ideal candidate for these scholarships will be ready to work hard, put in long hours, be part of a team, and keep their goals in mind. Prior coding experience isn’t required, but basic operating system skills are.

Since its launch, Deep Dive Coding has grown to 4 coding tracks, graduating nearly 400 students. After completing a 10 or 12 week bootcamp, graduates are earning an average starting salary in the Albuquerque area of $49,000 per year. Deep Dive grads have also gone on to start 24 new businesses.
