The Demo Day is the culmination of Activate NM’s immersive 8-week curriculum phase and is an opportunity for companies to present their startups and their progress to the public.

On May 24, ActivateNM, a program operated by ABQid and WESST's hybrid accelerator-incubator program, will host a Demo Day for growing companies that participated in their Spring 2019 program. The event is free and open to the public and will be held at the WESST Enterprise Center in east downtown Albuquerque from 3 to 5 p.m.

“With ActivateNM we’re helping promising up-and-coming entrepreneurs gain foundational knowledge about growing a startup from experienced entrepreneurs in the community, all in just eight weeks,” says ABQid Executive Director, T.J. Cook.

The Demo Day provides an opportunity to meet the founders and their companies for the first time via a five-minute pitch, with time to network afterward. Members of the local business community are invited to come support and identify opportunities for investment in the budding startups.

Local business, FruitStand, participated in a workshop put on by ActivateNM.

The four presenting companies and founders are:

  • Christopher Jaramillo of Donor Jar. Donor Jar is building the Quickbooks for political campaigns so that candidates can spend more time with constituents rather than financials & compliance.
  • Shailaja Jale of Well Known Corporation. Well Known is building a community-driven platform for students. Well known is the go to resource for discovering and connecting with other students.
  • Xavier Lemon of Conversion Plan. Conversion Plan crunches sales data - so you can crush quotas!
  • Zach Spangler of Nimble Compensation. Nimble Compensation wants to help auto dealerships streamline the commission process by moving beyond spreadsheets to maximize efficiency and savings.

“All four companies are solving real problems in important markets with exciting software products,” T.J. says. “It’s a showcase of beautiful synergy between Deep Dive Coding, which provides accelerated software development training, and our program, which provides accelerated startup training.”

According to T.J., the goal of ActivateNM’s Demo Day is to continue nurturing the tech and entrepreneurship community in Albuquerque while giving newcomers the chance to meet, connect and collaborate with the existing startups.

In addition to the four companies presenting at the Demo Day, attendees will get updates from two companies, Hangerang and FruitStand, that previously launched their products through ActivateNM and are successfully operating in the community today.
